Bible Verses about Being Diligent

Being diligent (chărûwts, khaw-roots' H2742 in Hebrew) is about making a decision. Making a decision is not like choosing. When we diligently obey the Lord's commandments, we make a decision to do just that. We don't choose to follow them one day and choose not to follow them the next day. Here are over twenty Bible verses about being diligent:

If you diligently heed the voice of the Lord your God and do what is right in His sight, give ear to His commandments and keep all His statutes, I will put none of the diseases on you which I have brought on the Egyptians. For I am the Lord who heals you (Exodus 15:26 NKJV).

You shall diligently keep the commandments of the Lord your God, His testimonies, and His statutes which He has commanded you (Deuteronomy 6:17 NKJV).

You have commanded us to keep Your precepts diligently (Psalm 119:4 NKJV).

Then they will call on me, but I will not answer; They will seek me diligently, but they will not find me. Because they hated knowledge And did not choose the fear of the Lord (Proverbs 1:28-29 NKJV).

Keep your heart with all diligence, For out of it spring the issues of life (Proverbs 4:23 NKJV).

There remains therefore a rest for the people of God. For he who has entered His rest has himself also ceased from his works as God did from His. Let us therefore be diligent to enter that rest, lest anyone fall according to the same example of disobedience (Hebrews 4:9-11 NKJV).

And we desire that each one of you show the same diligence to the full assurance of hope until the end (Hebrews 6:11 NKJV).
