Prayer for Loved Ones

A prayer for loved ones will be a blessing for all concerned. Many times loved ones will include using the pronoun us because of the closeness in the relationship, whether it be biological family, church family, co-workers , teammates, or friends. As always, I encourage you to add your own scriptures when praying the Word.

Praying the Word for Loved Ones

Lord, we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to Your purpose (Romans 8:28). Lord please let this be so in _________ lives. Lord help us learn to trust in You with all of our heart; leaning not unto our own understanding (Prov 3:5). Help us acknowledge You, Lord, in all of our ways so You will direct our paths (Prov 3:6). Help us never be wise in our own eyes, always being in fear and awe of You and always departing from evil (Prov 3:7).

Please Lord keep us as the apple of Your eye and hide us under the shadow of Your wing (Psalm 17:8). Lord please give us strength at this time and bless us with peace (Psalm 29:11), for You know Your thoughts toward us, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give us an expected end (Jer 29:11); here on earth redeeming the time by winning the lost (Col 4:5) and then spending eternity worshiping You on the street of gold (Rev 21:21). Help us know You Jesus so that we will be strong and do exploits (Dan 11:32).

Lord Jesus, plant us in Your house so we may flourish in Your courts (Psalm 92:13) and so that we will bring forth fruit in our old age (Psalm 92:14). Lord You have set before us life and death, blessing and cursing so therefore, guide us to choose life so we and our seed may live (Deut 30:19). Lord we pray that You help us love You, so that we may obey Your voice and cleave unto You for You are our life and the length of our days (Deut 30:20). Oh Jesus, help us always seek first Your kingdom and Your righteousness, so we never need to ever worry about  tomorrow, for it will take care of itself (Matt 6:33-34).

Lord we pray that You order our steps so that we will be good in Your eyes and that You will delight in that we are following You (Psalm 37:23). We are grateful and thankful that when we fall, You are always there upholding us with Your hand (Psalm 37:24). We thank You for never forsaking the righteous and never allowing our children to beg for bread.

We call on You Lord Jesus God of Israel, saying, Oh that thou would bless us indeed, and enlarge our coast, and that thine hand might be with us, and that You would keep us from evil, that it may not grieve us! I pray God that You grant us this request (1 Chronicles 4:10).

Lord, knowing from Your Word that we can come boldly to the throne of grace (Heb 4:16) making our requests, never asking for that which is amiss (Jam 4:3), we importune (Luke 11:8) for our loved ones. We ask You to bless and keep us, to let Your face shine on us and be gracious to us, giving us peace (Num 6:24-26).

Lord Jesus, like You said in the Garden of Gethsemane "Nevertheless, not my will be done, but thine, be done" (Luke 22:42), so Lord as we close this prayer, we pray above all things that Your will be done, and that You do whatever You please so Your purpose will stand in our lives (Isaiah 46:10 NIV).

We pray all this for our loved ones in the name of Jesus Christ.
